Imaginative Interaction with Internet Games
In this article, the author describes research that she did into children´s use of Internet games, in order to better understand how her students experienced the games, in order to be able to teach them better. She did a case study of 8 and 9 year olds who played free Internet games regularly, exploring how they interacted imaginatively with the games. The children were observed playing in an after school club and then interviewed. The author gained valuable insights into her students and their worlds. This is an interesting example of the ways games can be used in educational contexts, that is a little different from more conventional approaches.
