Students, nearly the end of compulsory education, have to acquire some knowledge and skills, essential for active participation in actual society, and to learn how these can be used in order to meet real-life challenges. In this context a change in the goals and objectives of school curricula is urgently required, considering that teaching is strictly connected to the assessment results in the educational system. The evaluation process involves not only teachers and their students, but also the various institutions with their different roles and tasks involving headmasters, offices of Educational Ministries.
The TALETE project intends to improve teaching methods through innovative tools favoring approaching to math subjects, especially geometry, considered often hard. So the goal is to improve student performance developing an interactive pedagogical environment set in a 3D virtual world.
